Lip Colours

I decided to purchase some new lip palettes to add to my makeup kit and thought I would try out the Sleek Makeup Lip 4 Lipstick Palette in colours Showgirl, Tease and Siren.

Each palette includes a matte, gloss and satin finish and the colours glide on perfectly and smoothly. They are great go use alone or can be mixed to create your ideal colour. Not quite sure yet which is my favourite!

Halloween Bride

On the 31st October I teamed up with a good friend of mine Brittany Jae who is also a fellow hair and makeup artist to work on a wonderful Halloween Bridal makeup look.

The bride's main colour theme was purple so she required a look that was dark and gothic with touches of purple included.

Makeup by me. Hair by Brittany Jae.

Party Eyes

I've been so busy these last couple of months with makeup bookings that I have hardly had time to put up any new blog posts, so I thought I would show you some of the looks I have been working on.

Here is the beautiful Danielle who booked me for a makeup application for her 18th birthday party. The look was all about the eyes as she wanted a dramatic smokey look using dark greys and silver, teamed with Ardell Wispies false lashes which can be found in most drugstores and give a great effect.

Neutral Smokey Eye

If you are not a big fan of dark and dramatic makeup but still want to add definition to your eyes and enhance your natural beauty then a neutral smokey eye is the perfect look.

This look can be worn during the day or night and is also a popular choice for brides on their wedding day.

Contouring Makeup

Contouring and highlighting is a great makeup technique which can give shape to an area of the face and enhance the overall facial structure. For best results the contouring should be subtle and blended well to give an illusion of either higher cheekbones a slimmer nose or a more define jawline.

Below is an example of a simple and classic contouring and highlighting makeup look keeping the eye makeup to a minimum with a bold statement lip colour.

Getting Ready...before and after

We have all probably had days where we have looked at ourselves in the mirror one morning and thought 'ugh! I feel and look terrible'.

Well the good thing about makeup is that no matter how awful you feel you can always transform your appearance by waking up your complexion and also giving yourself a bit of a confidence boost.

I thought I would be brave and show you my before and after photo on a particular morning I was feeling a bit under the weather. Here I kept my overall makeup look very natural looking but concentrated mainly on brightening up skin to give more of a radiant glow.

Special Occasion Makeup

One of my recent special occasion makeup bookings was for these four beautiful ladies.

Makeup for special occasions can range from being natural, simple and pretty to dramatic, dark and adventurous. The girls weren't quite sure what type of look they were wanting so I kept the makeup very simple and classic looking whilst accentuating there best features. Happy result!
